However, we have noticed that a lot of families provide backpacks for their students, so we didn't want to purchase a bag for every student if they were not needed. HB3958 goes into affect on July 1st which effects the way schools can communicate with its students. Fortunately, Timberlake's expected procedures for communication already align with this law. If parents or students have relied solely on text messaging or messaging staff through individual employee social media accounts, efforts MUST be made to begin relying on our Rooms communication platform through the Timberlake app. If you are not able to utilize Rooms, please email kpierce@tlake.k12.ok.us or tdayton@tlake.k12.ok.us or call Mr. Pierce at the district office during normal office hours. School email addresses and Google classroom will also be appropriate forms of communication moving forward. This is also a good time to clarify that the school Facebook page is simply a tool to share district wide information that is also shared on the Live Feed on the school website and the app. Messaging on the school Facebook page is rarely monitored. Calling the school or contacting staff through email or Rooms will lead to a quicker and more reliable response. Rooms and the Timberlake app provide a very useful "one stop shop" for communication. Consistent use by staff, students, and parents should allow communication to continue to improve. This state law does go into effect on July 1st so staff will not be able to respond to unapproved forms of communication from that date forward.
Just a reminder all Timberlake fields, gyms, and weight rooms are off limits during the mandatory OSSAA athletic activity dead period.
